This night is always an awesome night for flipside!!! This is the night you show your PRIDE for your teams!!! Come decked out in your team gear and tell everyone, “WHATS UP!!!!!” If you love BAMA come dressed ready to represent the TIDE, if you lover WAR EAGLES (TIGERS) not really sure what you could do but come representing AUBURN (you can be an EAG-TIG) ;-), if you are apart of GATOR NATION do your thing!!! Its all about who you cheer for and come representing!!!!
SEPTEMBER 10TH is where its at!!! Last night we had over 60 students come to 710 just to hang and play some dodgeball!!!! It was awesome. Last year we held a tournament for 5th Quarter and it was awesome!!! We had over 10 teams and this year we want to make it bigger and better!!! We are going to charge this year but we can get that money back and some if you win the tourney!!! Registration starts on the 25th of August and ends on the 9th of September. If you are under 18, you must have a parent sign for you to sign its okay for you to play in the tourney. Stay tuned for more information….
This past Wednesday night was pretty amazing, it was awesome!!!! For the past month we have been pushing this event. It really jump starts us for the school year cause people are still just getting over the summer blues. Just something about the summer that students tend to hibernate:-) Saw a lot of old and new faces and thats always awesome.
I just want to thank those students that did their part and invited their friends!!! The awesome part about this past Wednesday night was that a lot of the students that showed for the first time didn’t already have a student ministry they attended and those that do, we asked them to stay plugged in their current student ministry. The last thing we want to do at flipside is take students from other student ministries.
flipside is all about reaching the lost and seeing students grow in their relationship with Jesus. If one day these students decide to leave and go somewhere else, its all good (PRAISE GOD!!!!). As long as they are going somewhere that they continue to grow in their walk with God!!! I think what people tend to forget was what happened in the early church in the book of Acts. Acts 2:47 talks about how the church was added unto daily and many people got saved. We had over 10 salvations and several students heard the gospel for the first time!!! Thats what its all about and thats why we do what we do;-) Its not about the 205 that we had show up, even though you got to admit thats awesome. Its all about those got saved and the seed that was planted. Thats why was i was willing to dye my hair PINK!!!!

Only 13 more days till one of the biggest events of the year for flipside!!!! This is what kick starts us for the year in flipside and this event will be successful if you do your part. Last year we had over 150!!! The most we’ve had in any event since I’ve been here. The goal this year is 200+!!!! We easily can do it. The plan is this….. If we see over 200 students at flipside that night, i will dye my hair pink that night in flipside!!!! If we see over 250, Pastor Tom will shave his head. I dont know about you but i would like to see that. Did i mention i will leave my hair pink for over a month;-) That’s not going to be easy for me but i am willing to do it. So, lets get excited about this and do your part!!!! Start inviting now!!!!
Its officially been over a week now that we’ve gotten back from El Salvador!!! It was truly a life changing experience, not just for me but also for the students that were able to go. We were able to reach out to 4,500 people and saw over 150 salvations!!! It was truly awesome. In one school assembly alone we were ministering to over 200 students and at least half of them raised their hands for salvation. It was incredible. We did about 12 school assemblies and 9 services. We hit the ground running as soon as we got there Tuesday and were non-stop ever since. Monday was our free-day and i would lie if i told you it wasnt needed. A lot of the students wanted to stay and not come back home. Me other hand… missed my family and was ready to brush my teeth without having to use bottled water and be able to drop my toilet paper in the toliet instead of a trash can near me;-) Just something about that grosses me out. I loved it there but i also love the USA and my family. Plus, i wanted to come back and see all the lovely faces of flipsiders. Really missed all of you that Wednesday night we werent there. So, i say all that to say this…. Dont miss Alaska 2011!!!!! Its going to be awesome. Just got off the phone with the missionary there and everything looks like a go. We will be doing a Vacation Bible School for kids and doing some community projects in the neighborhood!!! Its going to be awesome so be sure to do what you can to be apart of this awesome missions trip!!!
Be sure to start working your friends that dont go to church!!! This event is what kick starts us off for the new school year. We are depending on your flipsiders cause the success of this event is on what you do!!!! AUGUST 18TH is the day and its going to be awesome!!! Free food, drinks, Joust inflatable, boxing ring, sumo wrestling, awesome praise and worship set, and the start of a nex exciting sermon series!!! Its going to be aweomse, so lets get on the facebook page, myspace, tweet, text messaging, calling on the phone, or whatever it is you do to stay in contact with your friends and lets invite!!!!

Its about 6 AM and I have been awake since about 5:30 AM. Really trying to go back asleep!!! I dont know but there is just something about going to another country in about 24 hours that can really freak you out or really excited. Honestly speaking I am a little both. My plan orginally was to get up at 6:45 AM so, I guess I did get enough sleep.
Tomorrow is a big day and we are heading to EL Salvador. I am really pumped and excited about the opportunity we have at hand. Soon as we get there, we are going to hit the ground running. We are going to learn a human video in Spanish, go over some orientation stuff, and get ready for our first service. The next three days we are going to do 14 school assemblies and I am certain that we are also going to be doing services at night as well. Not really sure about Saturday but I know Sunday is going to be really busy;-) This next week is going to fly by so fast and I truly believe we are going to see a lot of lives changed. Really pumped and excited about that!!!! God has some great things in store not only for those that we are going to minister too but also the students that will be joining us.
I want to encourage you flipsiders or parents that find yourself reading this. Do what you can to join us next year to Alaska!! Parent do what you can to have your student join us!!! Missions trips are life changing events and do something to you that sometimes can not be explained. I am so pumped that we have the opportunity to do some school assemblies and reach out to students that have never heard the gospel!!!! This is going to be awesome!!! Stay tuned….

Master’s Commision will always be a special part of my life. For 4 years I was apart of 2 great programs. This night will be a great night as they come to present the Word of God in different forms. Through skits, human videos, and other forms of media and visual arts. Don’t miss this night cause it will be awesome!!!!
I know how we all just love Christmas!!!! This gives us another reason to have it in flipside!!! We will have a gift exchange which is always fun in flipside and some cool giveaways;-) Just spreading some of that Christmas spirit!!!! Flipside will also be decorated and who knows, maybe Santa will make a special appearance!!!!
Yes a lot of us will be gone to R3 but we will still have flipside next week!!! It will be called our “chill” night!!! Come to flipside next Wednesday night (6/23) and get some free pizza and a soft drink!!! During the time we regualry have flipside there will be dodgeball going on, basketball, playing some video games, and some other cool things to do to just hang out. It will be just a night of “chilling” and hanging out. So plan on being there;-)
